• Question: As far as you know, have there been any studies investigating the almost-doubling of autistic-spectrum disorders in American children between the years 2000 and 20008, in the light of the proliferation of GM foods in that country over roughly the same time period?

      Hi ruskin, I am certainly no expert on autism but I am aware that it was doubling long before GM food became prevalent, and has been doubling in countries where GM food is NOT prevalent. Much of this doubling is due to a better understanding of what autism is, an expansion of what constitutes autism, and a more routine screening of children suspected of having autism. Not, I suspect, anything to do with this subject.

    Hi Ruskin,
    I don’t know if there is a link with GM foods, however there is a higher level of autism in people whose mother had a metabolic condition (such as diabetes or obesity) during pregnancy, and I am sure you are aware levels of obesity and diabetes have greatly increased in the last 10 years.
